surrender by james robert

i looked in her eyes
and said to my heart
don't even go there
let's not even start

i looked in her heart
and said to my eyes
it looks like winter
lots of ice cold lies

i eyed her body
and said to my mind
it's not worth the cost
you'd be better blind

i then eyed her mind
and said,"hey body"
there's no one at home
her thinking's shoddy

i then eyed the sea
from my dicey perch
and knew all at once
love hung in the lurch

i then eyed the sea
from so far under
casting my lot with
sea's captured plunder
